About Founders House Publishing
Founders House Publishing LLC was established in November of 2009 by Danville, Illinois residents Shaun and Amanda Kilgore as a vehicle to gather together artists, writers, and other creative minds to develop a unique vision of publishing. Founders House is the culmination of the owners' dream to collaborate with great new voices and amazing artists. Our vision is to produce quality books that will be enjoyed by a growing and faithful readership.
It is Founders House's mission work together with our writers in order to promote and market the books that make up our list. Rather than taking the route of the subsidy press, vanity press, or an author services solution, we operate as a traditional publisher. Yet, we are taking a less traditional approach when it comes to our sales and marketing strategies. Our goal is to communicate our message and our books in ways that make the best use of today's social media and networking tools.
We plan to sell a majority of books online through various wholesalers, distributors, and through direct sales, among other options. This unique strategy allows us to offer our writers higher royalty rates based off quarterly sales. (This is provided in place of the traditional advance.)
Founders House offers quality print books with professionally designed covers and interiors. We utilize the latest print-on-demand technologies to deliver books only based on genuine interest thereby eliminating the costs of managing surplus merchandise. We believe this is a more ecologically sound practice.
